COL.D.D.

Cold water swimming for the prevention of Dementia and Depression (COL.D.D.) - aims to utilize cold water swimming as a method to prevent the development or progression of dementia and depression in adults aged 50 and over. The project seeks to develop and test a methodology that could revolutionize the treatment of depression and dementia in adults. It aims to provide professionals working with adults with an innovative method to combat these conditions, promote a beneficial method applicable across Europe, and foster cooperation among various organizations in battling depression and preventing dementia in adults over 50 years of age. The project's anticipated results include a manual with guidelines for safe cold-water swimming, breath control, and mindfulness to prevent dementia and treat depression, a series of workshops implementing the project method, and a research paper documenting empirical research exploring the potential of the project methods to improve mood and alleviate depressive symptoms.
