What Happened
The first day focused on partner presentations, sharing experiences from their cities and NGOs on nature-based solutions and stakeholder participation.
Participants were then introduced to Berlin’s climate adaptation efforts by the Climate Adaptation Manager of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district. The day concluded with a visit to the extraordinary:

Floating University Berlin
A unique nature-cultural learning site located in a former rainwater retention basin, demonstrating how urban infrastructure can transform into a living laboratory for sustainability and community engagement.

  • Presentation on NBS at ufaFabrik and Potsdamer Platz

  • Walk & Talk sessions with neighborhood initiatives in Fritschestraße and Gräfekiez, showcasing citizen-led rainwater collection and urban greening efforts

The Berlin meeting highlighted how climate adaptation becomes most powerful when it is rooted in local action, collaboration, and shared ownership.
