Empowering the Next Generation of Eco-Leaders:
"Youth Green Compass" Success in Kaunas
Date: 27-30 September 2025
Topic: Youth Empowerment & Sustainability
From September 27–30, the city of Kaunas became a vibrant hub for environmental action, hosting 25 young leaders from across Europe for the "Youth Green Compass" meeting.
This four-day international event brought together motivated youth aged 18–29 from Lithuania, Austria, Spain, Italy, and France, united by a single goal: to foster dialogue and co-create sustainable solutions for a greener future.
As part of the wider "Youth Green Compass" European initiative, the meeting was more than just a seminar—it was a dynamic platform for connection. Young entrepreneurs, aspiring policymakers, and activists shared their experiences, proving that the drive to tackle climate change transcends borders.
Connecting Five Cities, One Mission:
The event focused on empowering participants to take ownership of environmental challenges in their own communities. Through a series of collaborative workshops and open discussions, attendees explored how to integrate eco-friendly practices into both business models and personal lifestyles.
Highlights of the meeting included:
-
Cross-Border Networking: A unique opportunity for youth from five different nations to exchange perspectives on how their respective countries are tackling sustainability.
-
From Idea to Action: Participants worked intensively on developing concrete project ideas, designed to help local environments "go green" and encourage communities to live more sustainably.
-
Dialogue with Experts: Guest speakers provided insightful presentations, offering professional tools and knowledge to help turn youthful idealism into practical impact.
Outcomes and Future Impact:
The event succeeded in its key aim: equipping young people with the "compass" they need to navigate the complexities of environmental advocacy.
By the end of the four days, these 25 young leaders left not only with new networks but with actionable plans to implement green initiatives back home.
The "Youth Green Compass" continues to prove that when given the right tools and platform, young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow, they are the change-makers of today.
